"Radio amateurs are not dinosaurs, so they must not be allowed to disappear from the face of the earth."

The USKA Executive Committee shares this view. To attract new people and the next generation, the USKA is proposing a special kind of ‘Field Day’ and invites all radio amateurs to take part.

The aim of this day is to raise the profile of radio amateurs to the wider public by organising activities with portable stations in public places. This will help to raise awareness of our hobby.

All bands (except WARC) are available for this contest. Operators may use both SSB and CW. Digital modes are excluded due to their lack of public appeal.

The award was initiated by the Tera Radio Club and has been under the patronage of the USKA since 2022. The award is administered by HB9EDG.

  • Modes: CW, SSB
  • Bands: 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, 10, 6, 2, 70 cm, 23 cm, SHF
  • Call sign: RS(T) + sequential number + full locator
  • SWL: see rules
  • Categories: OM/YL, SWL
  • Scoring: Distance to the other station (km) divided by the transmit power (W) gives the score. Example: 1000 km / 100 W = 10 points; 1000 km / 10 W = 100 points. Each station may only be scored once per band, regardless of the mode of operation.
