The annual mountain day of Swiss radio amateurs
The National Mountain Day (NMD) is an annual event where Swiss radio amateurs operate from mountain summits. The goal is to make as many contacts as possible from exposed locations and promote amateur radio in the mountains.
Participating stations set up their portable radio equipment on Swiss summits and work stations at home and abroad. The NMD combines outdoor activity with radio technology — a highlight of the Swiss amateur radio calendar.
