Transmitting licence

In Switzerland, as in most countries, a radio amateur requires a licence. This is issued by the Federal Office of Communications (BAKOM) once the radio amateur examination has been passed. Switzerland has two types of licence: HB3 and HB9. They can be broadly characterised as follows:
